The Bozo People , famous for their fishing are located predominately along the Niger river in Mali and are known as “Masters of the River”
They preserve a number of animist traditions and believe that objects, places and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence.
The mask is hand carved from wood with brass details and represents male and female.
Traditionally they are worn on the head during ceremonies.
